Philadelphia 76ers rookie Ben Simmons showed off even more of his impressive skills during NBA Summer League with a one-handed dunk and a no-look pass Tuesday night.
NBA rookie Ben Simmons continues to impress. On Tuesday night, he racked up several more plays for his continuing highlight reel. The Philadelphia 76ers youngster showed his passing abilities as well as his knack for dunking with authority as his team took on the Golden State Warriors.
As seen in the video clip, the rookie was in the right place at the right time for the strong follow-up dunk. After a drive to the hoop by his teammate bounced up off the front of the rim, Simmons swooped in and with one hand, viciously threw the ball down. It certainly drew the attention of the crowd as “oohs” and “ahhs” could be heard throughout the building.
That wasn’t all for Simmons in the early part of the game. On a drive of his own down the lane, he showed off his unselfishness and his impressive passing skills for a player his size. Simmons tucked the ball briefly before throwing a sweet no-look pass to his teammate for a two-handed jam.
While Simmons and the Sixers weren’t playing the fully powered Golden State Warriors in this game, the rookie is still giving glimpses of what’s to come. Based on this early showing of his skills in NBA Summer League, expect to see plenty more highlight reel plays along the way in the coming season.
