Chad Johnson says he will be a coach at Browns training camp this month.

Chad Johnson says he will be at Browns training camp later this month in a non-playing role. His exact role as a part-time coach  or training camp guest is no exactly clear at this time.

Johnson, who has not played in an NFL game in five years, was cut  in 2012 by the Miami Dolphins after a domestic violence incident. This incident was highly publicized at the time and Johnson being released by the Dolphins was shown on HBO’s “Hard Knocks.” .

The six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro sent out a tweet yesterday asking his former offensive coordinator with the Cincinnati Bengals for an opportunity.

One day later, his request was approved.

It’s a good thing for Johnson to get back into NFL atmosphere, albeit as a coach because his skills and knowledge are undeniable.

Don’t expect Johnson to stick around in a full-time capacity, but perhaps this will ignite a fire in Johnson who can transition seamlessly into a post-playing career that will keep him around the game he once played at a high level.
