Chicago Bulls star player Jimmy Butler appears to be staying put via the latest NBA trade rumors and reports.

It looks like the Chicago Bulls’ Jimmy Butler trade rumors can officially end for this particular offseason. The All-Star player is said to be staying put in the Windy City where he’s now aligned with two fellow stars as they’ll try to return the team to prominence.

Butler appears to be locked into a three-year contract with his current team, as they move forward after letting go of three other stars.

As ESPN’s Zach Lowe noted on Tuesday, “Butler is off the market for now, per league sources.”

The 26-year-old wing player had been among

the hottest players named in trade rumors this offseason, as the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves were two of the teams that attempted to get a deal done with Chicago. However, the Bulls’ management kept their star in place, while letting go of former All-Star players Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, both of whom left for the New York Knicks. NBA champion Pau Gasol also decided to leave town and will now be a part of the San Antonio Spurs.

Butler seems to be the core player of the Chicago roster now as they look to climb their way back into the top teams in the Eastern Conference. During the offseason, the Bulls added superstar Dwyane Wade, who signed a lucrative contract to play for his home city. In addition, they brought in point guard Rajon Rondo and center Robin Lopez.

The 6-foot-7 shooting guard out of Marquette put up numbers of 20.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game in his 2015-16 season. While Chicago failed to make the playoffs, he was among the most consistent and generally healthy players on the floor for the team. He also recorded his second-straight All-Star game appearance.

Based on Butler’s numbers last season, as well as the added services of Wade, Rondo and Lopez, things are certainly looking much better as the Bulls try to get back into the next postseason.
