Rio 2016 women’s soccer schedule
A look at when the Rio 2016 women’s soccer schedule kicks off.
The Rio 2016 Olympics is almost upon us, and with that means another soccer tournament this summer! This time around we have 12 women’s teams from around the world competing for Olympic glory.
We have the defending champions United States competing in their fifth women’s Olympic soccer tournament, being a four-time gold medal winner and finishing in second in 2000.
The hosts Brazil will be competing in Group E (first group) with China PR, Sweden and South Africa. The second group will feature the 2012 bronze medal winners Canada, Australia, Zimbabwe and Germany. While the U.S. will be in Group G (last group) with New Zealand, France and Colombia. The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage.
The competition will start on August 3rd and will go all the way until the 19th. The quarter-finals are set to begin on August 12th and the semi’s will begin on the 16th.

August 3rd:

August 3rd:
Canada vs Australia 2 p.m EST
Zimbabwe vs Germany 5 p.m EST
August 6th:
Canada vs Zimbabwe 2 p.m EST
Germany vs Australia 5 p.m EST
August 9th:
Germany vs Canada 3 p.m EST
Australia vs Zimbabwe 3 p.m EST
Group G:
August 3rd:
USA vs New Zealand 6 p.m EST
France vs Colombia 9 p.m EST
August 6th:
USA vs France 4 p.m EST
Colombia vs New Zealand 7 p.m EST
August 9th:
Colombia vs USA 6 p.m EST
New Zealand vs France 6 p.m EST
