College football superstar and Heisman frontrunner Leonard Fournette gave a very telling answer when asked if he would return to LSU for his senior season.

Leonard Fournette put his name on the map during his sophomore campaign when he rushed for 1953 total yards and got 23 touchdowns in 11 games. Considering he’s eligible for the NFL Draft, many expect him to keep up his production and potentially become the second straight running back to win the Heisman.

When he spoke to Brett McMurphy of ESPN, he remained non-committal on whether he would return to LSU for his senior season but said he enjoys LSU because he doesn’t have to pay for anything.

These words will be scrutinized to no end.

We are only a few months removed from the NCAA having to investigate Ole Miss for giving Laremy Tunsil money for rent and his mother’s electric bill. The last thing the NCAA needs is to hear the most popular player in college football claim that “everything is free.”

It’s very likely that this comment will get blown out of proportion since he’s probably only referring to his scholarship and how he has a nice meal plan. It shouldn’t warrant an investigation, but even if it did, the NCAA knows that suspending Fournette for any period of time would be bad for the game.
