Pac-12 Networks announces live streaming partnership with Twitter.

With the world of social media growing every day, the world of sports wants a piece of the action. The Pac-12 Networks have announced a live streaming partnership with Twitter that will cover live events in the Pac-12 conference.

Twitter will stream more than 150 Pac-12 events in the 2016-2017 season. The 150-plus games will be streamed to fans over Twitter and will be another way for Pac-12 fans to watch their beloved teams.

The Pac-12 is excited with their newly formed collaboration with Twitter. Pac-12 Networks President Lydia Murphy-Stephans said via Pac-12.com, “The Pac-12 Networks’ collaboration with Twitter reflects our ongoing commitment to increasing exposure for Pac-12 universities and their live, school-produced events. By expanding our digital footprint, Pac-12 Plus also allows us to connect more fans with more, live Pac-12 sports content through a platform they use every day.”

Twitter is also excited for its partnership with the Pac-12. Anthony Noto, Twitter’s chief financial officer said, “Our partnership with the Pac-12 Networks will give sports fans a great way to view live sporting events along with the live Twitter conversation they are already accustomed to.”

With the Pac-12 Network forming an alliance with Twitter, it will be interesting to see how many other college football conferences follow suit. For a conference like the SEC, who already gets a lot of exposure, following the Pac-12 and forming a partnership with Twitter surely will not hurt.
