Rookie RB Jonathan Williams arrested for DWI

Buffalo Bills rookie running back Jonathan Williams was arrested for DWI late on Wednesday night.
Jonathan Williams, Buffalo’s fifth-round draft pick was arrested for DWI late Wednesday night in Arkansas, the state where he played in his college days.
According to the police report, Williams had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and was swaying back and forth while speaking to officers. Williams failed a field sobriety test. Per the advice of his agent, Williams has refused to take a breathalyzer test, and will appear in court on August 15th, a day on which the Bills have practice.
Williams’ years at Arkansas were plagued by injuries, but when healthy, he was an outstanding power back for the Razorbacks. He missed the entire 2015 season, but rushed for 1,190 yards and 12 touchdowns while splitting the backfield with Alex Collins, who was also taken in the fifth round of the draft by the Seattle Seahawks.
The Bills got a great running back at a bargain, if they can keep him healthy and apparently out of trouble. When Williams is healthy, he’s a monster to behold at tailback, and that was exacerbated by the fact that he could be substituted for the speedy Alex Collins at any given time. Despite being injured, Williams doesn’t have that many touches, and once he’s healthy will be able to carry the ball in third down situations for the Bills.
The Bills are still gathering information on the arrest, and have yet to make a statement on suspensions and missed playing time for Williams.
