Contract talks between Von Miller and Broncos have reportedly gone silent.

With training camp seemingly around the corner, all 32 NFL Teams are gearing up for the upcoming season. Though for the Super Bowl champions, Denver Broncos, the question still remains, will Von Miller play during the 2016 season?

The deadline for Miller to agree to a long-term contract is by Friday afternoon. If no contract agreement is reached by that point, then Miller will have to play under the franchise tag at $14.26 million for the 2016 season, something he said he will not do.

Now today, one day away from the deadline, there’s rumors that the contract talks between Miller and the Broncos have gone silent, four days after the Broncos reportedly made a better offer to Miller.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk with regards to a new deal being reached between both parties, “Here’s one thing that’s apparently not happening. The two sides still aren’t truly negotiating. Instead, the Broncos will make an offer and Miller’s camp will respond and that back and forth will continue without meaningful engagement aimed at resolving any lingering differences.”

This is not good at all for the Broncos. As Miller is coming off of a season in which he won Super Bowl MVP and was the anchor of a great defense that harassed quarterbacks all year long. That vaunted holdout that Miller said he would do if no long-term deal was reached is very close to coming to fruition.
