Identifying the top high salary and value first baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 15 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

David Ortiz, Red Sox (5,300): Ortiz only has six games left in Yankee Stadium, barring an unlikely meeting between the two American League East rivals in the postseason. You better believe he’ll be geared up to leave Yankees fans with a few late parting gifts. Ortiz is hitting .357 against righties, so he’s an elite play Friday against starter Michael Pineda (3-8, 5.38 ERA).

Paul Goldschmidt, Diamondbacks (5,000): “Goldy” finished the first half of the season on a nice run, reaching double digits in DK points in four of his last seven games. He could keep that momentum rolling at home on Friday in the series opener against Los Angeles Dodgers righty Bud Norris (3-7, 3.98 ERA). He’s a solid pivot off of Ortiz at first base.

High Value

Chris Davis, Orioles (3,700): Davis should only be deployed in GPP lineups, but for a sub-4,000 price tag, there is significant upside here. on Friday, Davis faces Tampa Bay Rays righty Chris Archer (4-12, 4.66 ERA), who has struggled after a breakout All-Star season in 2015. Davis is 5-for-17 with two doubles and two home runs in his career against Archer.

Eric Hosmer, Royals (3,400): Hosmer had a successful first All-Star Game, going 2-for-3 with a home run en route to MVP honors. He’ll look to ride that wave of good fortune into Friday’s matchup with Detroit Tigers veteran Justin Verlander (8-6, 4.07 ERA). Hosmer is 19-for-72 (.264) with five doubles, one triple and one home run against the former American League MVP.
