FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy baseball lineup-July 15
Catcher
High-Salary Option: Salvador Perez-Kansas City Royals (3,400): Perez homered in the All Star game, but he makes this list based on a good matchup and good form before the break. Perez went 6-17 in the last week before the break with a double and two homers. He is 22-46 (.478) in his career against Justin Verlander who he’ll face tonight as the Royals take on the Tigers. Perez isn’t a cheap option behind the plate, but he’s a great play tonight if you can afford his salary.∗∗∗∗
Mid-range Option: Yasmani Grandal-Los Angeles Dodgers (3,200): Grandal couldn’t have been happy to take four days off after tearing up the Padres going 8-12 in the three-game set heading into the break. Grandal hit three homers in Friday’s game for a massive 72.6 fantasy points but is only averaging 8.5 fantasy points per game on the season. Grandal will look to pick up where he left off as he and the Dodgers open their series against Arizona tonight.∗∗
Mid-range Option: Jonathan Lucroy-Milwaukee Brewers (3,000): Look for Lucroy to be a name thrown around leading up to the trading deadline, and its easy to see why a contender would desire a bat like his behind the plate. Lucroy is hitting .304 on the season and .313 so far in July. He has gone 12-24 with four homers and 12 RBI against the Reds this season and has a history of crushing the ball at Great American Ballpark. Lucroy is a little reduced tonight in a matchup with Anthony DeSclafani, but he’s a solid buy at only 3K today. ∗∗∗
High-Value Option: J.T. Realmuto-Miami Marlins (2,600): Realmuto starting July 13-33 (.394) with nine runs scored and a homer. He has picked his average for the season up to a very solid .317, but he struggles with lefties (11-60, .183) which is why his price is a bit reduced tonight in a matchup with southpaw Jaime Garcia who Realmuto is 1-6 against in his career. If you have to spend under 3K, Realmuto is one of the better hitters you can get, but just be aware of his reverse splits.∗∗
High-Value Option: Kurt Suzuki-Minnesota Twins (2,400): Suzuki gathered an impressive head of steam before the break including four multi-hit games in his last five contests posting at least 12 fantasy points in each of those four contests. If he can pick up where he left off, he’ll be a bargain at under 2.5K. ∗∗∗∗
