Deontay Wilder admitted to breaking his hand and tearing his bicep in his win over Chris Arreola on Saturday night

Saturday night the WBC Heavyweight Champion of the World, Deontay Wilder, stepped into the ring once again to defend his crown, this time against challenger Chris Arreola. When all was said and done, the champ came out of this one with his record unscathed, as he improved to 37-0 following Arreola’s cormer stopping the fight just before the ninth round.

As for the champ’s body, though, that was far from unscathed.

Immediately following the dominant win, Wilder admitted to the press that he fought a majority of that fight not only with a broken right hand, but a torn bicep as well.

After the fourth round had ended, it was pretty clear that there was something wrong with at least the right hand of Wilder. He wasn’t using it at all, really just relying on the left jab to keep his overwhelmed opponent away. It was successful for the most part, but still, it was pretty obvious that he was having an issue with that right.

Nonetheless, he was still able to somehow come away with the win in this one, and the champ keeps his impressive winning streak alive for the time being.

Now we await to see what’s next for the pride of Alabama, as well as what sort of medical procedures will be needed to correct the issues.
