Deontay Wilder, who’s hoping to become the next great American heavyweight, will honor Muhammad Ali in his fight against Chris Arreola.

While he’s still a long way away from achieving what he accomplished, Deontay Wilder will honor Muhammad Ali in his fight against Chris Arreola. Ali was your favorite athlete’s favorite athlete, and when all is said and done, Wilder wants to be remembered as a great American heavyweight just like his idol.

Wilder’s fourth title defense is sure to be an emotional night for him as he will fight in his home state of Alabama. And with this touching tribute to Muhammad Ali, he’ll be hoping to make this a night to remember:

It feels like everything is on his side tonight. Wilder will be in front of his home fans, has a 36-0 record, and is facing a fighter who hasn’t won since March of 2015. But boxing is a crazy sport where just one punch can change everything, and while Wilder has his sights set on big unification fights in the future, he knows he can’t overlook Chris Arreola, who’s approaching this contest with nothing to lose.

If everything goes right for Wilder, though, he might try to mirror Muhammad Ali by standing over Arreola after knocking him out.
