Identifying the top high salary and value third baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 16 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and watch weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Jake Lamb, Diamondbacks (5,500): A strong case can be made for Toronto slugger Josh Donaldson in this top spot, but we’ll go with Lamb, who draws a home matchup with Los Angeles Dodgers righty Brandon McCarthy (2-0, 2.70 ERA). McCarthy will make his first road start of the season Saturday at Chase Field, which saw 20 total runs cross the plate in Friday’s series opener. Lamb is expensive but has high upside.

Kyle Seager, Mariners (4,700): Like Lamb, Seager is a strong play anytime he faces a right-handed pitcher. Naturally, Seattle faces Houston Astros righty Lance McCullers (4-3, 3.79 ERA) on Saturday. Seager is 3-for-10 in his career against McCullers but also hitting .336 against right-handers on the season.

High Value

Evan Longoria, Rays (3,200): Longoria’s price has dropped dramatically since last weekend, but history tells us he could be in for a solid game Saturday against Baltimore Orioles right-hander Chris Tillman (12-2, 3.41 ERA). In his career, Longoria is 17-for-57 (.298) with four doubles, seven home runs and 10 RBIs against Tillman. To get that kind of production for just over 3,000 is a great value.

Yunel Escobar, Angels (3,100): Escobar is best viewed as a GPP play, due to his lack of power (three HRs in 79 games this season), but he still offers upside in a nice matchup against struggling veteran James Shields (4-10, 5.42 ERA). Escobar is 8-for-32 with a pair of doubles against Shields, and he’s also hitting .306 against right-handers this season.
