Chelsea and Leicester City agreed to the transfer fee for Foxes star midfielder, N’Golo Kante

Leicester City shocked the soccer world by winning the Premier League title last season. This has obviously created high-demand for their players. Star midfielder N’Golo Kante is the first to leave Leicester City for a more profile club as Chelsea announced his move to Stamford Bridge Saturday morning.

The amount of the transfer fee is yet to be officially revealed, but Sky Sports reports it to be around $40 million. It is also rumored that Chelsea is offering a weekly wage well over double what Kante earned with the Foxes.

Kante was an important part of the championship Leicester City midfield, starting 33 games. He also made headway with the France national team, taking part in their run to the Euro 2016 final earlier this month.

The 25-year-old was understandably excited with the move, telling the official Chelsea FC website: “I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It’s a dream come true for me…The opportunity to work with Antonio Conte, a brilliant coach, and some of the best players in the world was simply too good to turn down.”

Conte, who took over as Chelsea manager after stepping down as Italian head coach after their exit at the Euros, will surely be pleased with the move. Last season, Kante led the Premier League in tackles and interceptions and was voted onto the PFA Team of the Year. Both manager and player will be seeking to return Chelsea to the top of the Premier League. They won the title in the 2014-15 season.
