MLB trade rumors will be endless over the next couple of weeks with the August 1 deadline approaching. Will the New York Yankees move Aroldis Chapman and Carlos Beltran?

Through 89 games, the New York Yankees sit at 44-45, 5.5 games out of a Wild Card spot and 8.5 games out of the lead in the American League East.

According to Fox Sports MLB insider Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees could look to move a couple pending free agents and some starting pitching if there isn’t a rise in the standings coming.

A couple of the names Rosenthal mentioned on Fox Sports 1 in a television appearance along with Aroldis Chapman and Carlos Beltran were C.C. Sabathia and Nathan Eovaldi.

Rosenthal also included a nugget from the Pittsburgh Review Tribune’s report about the Pittsburgh Pirates inquiring about Eovaldi’s availability.

“The Yankees are not in sell mode right now,” Rosenthal said on Fox Sports 1. “They’re not even exchanging names they could even decide to their starting pitchers until the offseason when the returns would be just as strong, given the weakness of the free agent market.”

Aroldis Chapman was acquired by the Yankees during this past offseason in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds that sent four minor league prospects to Cincinnati. 39-year-old Carlos Beltran signed a three-year, $45 million deal before the 2014 season and is lined up to be a free agent for the 2017 season.

If the Yanks do look to move Chapman, there will likely be a laundry list of suitors, preferably teams in contention that could use one of the most dangerous arms in baseball out of the bullpen.

As for Beltran, he’d likely be heading to a team that needs a left-handed bat and would likely stay in the American League because of the designated hitter role that Beltran can fill sometimes. He’s not the outfielder he used to be, but he’s still serviceable and a veteran player.
