The Buffalo Bills just lost two young running backs to suspension. Could they be interested in Reggie Bush?
The Buffalo Bills are now down two running backs. Jonathan Williams was arrested in Arkansas this week for a DWI, and Karlos Williams will serve a four-game suspension for a substance abuse policy. With all of this in mind, Jason La Canfora of CBS sports thinks the Bills could reach out to Reggie Bush to help put out the fire at the running back position.
Bush is nursing a torn MCL from slipping on concrete at the Ram’s stadium. He claims that he feels “healthy and can make an impact on the field”, according to an interview on Sirius XM NFL Radio.
Reggie Bush has been a journeyman ever since being traded to the Dolphins by the Saints in 2011. After spending a couple of years with the Lions, he signed a one-year contract with the 49ers before sustaining his MCL injury.
If you’re looking for a running back to fill a gap, there might not be any better bang for your buck than Reggie Bush. At 31, he’s getting a little old to play running back, but he has the experience and talent to fill the gaps until the running backs the Bills want have served their suspensions.
Bush is a very talented running back, and he rushed for over 1,000 yards with the Lions as recently as 2013. With the suspension of Karlos Williams and the inevitable suspension of Jonathan Williams, the Bills might not have a better option on the table.
