Henrik Stenson edges out Phil Mickelson for The Open Championship with this amazing putt.

Henrik Stenson beat one of the biggest names in golf history with this incredibly played birdie putt on the 18th hole Sunday.

Stenson shot a 63 to take home to victory over Mickelson. He’s the first Swedish golfer to ever win a golf major and it’s also the first major victory of Stenson’s career.

Stenson and Mickelson fought all day long to secure the Open title. Stenson had strong putting all day long, including this ridiculous 51-foot putt to bring home the birdie on hole 15. He has 19 professional wins, but this is his first win in the four major tournaments in golf. Stenson finished 20-under with a three-stroke lead on Phil Mickelson, who has won more than his fair share of major titles. Stenson took home 1,175,000 pounds for his victory.

In an Open that saw Rory McIlroy struggle and smash a club, Thomas Pieters smash a club, and Andrew “Beef” Johnson show off his meat-themed wedge, it was the Swede that took home the bacon. He entered the final round with a mere one-stroke lead over golf giant Phil Mickelson and exited with a three stroke win.

Stenson’s strong putting and deft maneuvering on Royal Troon helped him win the title. Most expected Mickelson, who had dominated the early rounds, to finish off Stenson, but the American couldn’t get the job done in the final rounds. Stenson may not be a household name in golf, but he’s the hero for today.
