Like most races at New Hampshire, the 2016 New Hampshire 301 started off peacefully under the clouds on Sunday. However, it was the end of the race where a once peaceful day with few cautions became a demolition derby.

With 20 laps to go and coming off of a couple of cautions, Matt Kenseth would get a great restart on Kyle Bussch, who ended up losing position to Kevin Harvick.

However, before any traction could be gained on the track, Kyle Larson would spin around and another caution would come out to set up yet another frantic restart at New Hampshire.

On the ensuing restart Kenseth held on for the lead, but Joey Logano and Tony Stewart made aggressive moves to get to the front. Right behind them was a mammoth battle between Kyle Busch and Greg Biffle, who fought tobe a factor in the race.

Busch got loose and that allowed Ricky Stenhouse Jr. moved on up past him. Stewart would pass Logano for second, but there was no passing Kenseth, as he picked up his second straight New Hampshire 301 victory and improved his spot in the Chase standings.
