According to multiple reports, restricted free agent forward Alex Killorn has agreed to a seven-year deal with the Lightning worth $4.45 million per season.

The Tampa Bay Lightning entered the 2016 offseason with numerous restricted free agents to take care of. They have done well to lock most of them up while also managing to extend defenseman Victor Hedman and goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy.

Now they have reportedly agreed to a seven-year deal with restricted free agent forward Alex Killorn. He will reportedly be paid $4.45 million per season, making the alleged deal worth $31.15 million.

Killorn’s cap hit places him 49th among all NHL centers. During the 2015-16 season, Killorn had 40 points (one off of his career high of 41 points set in 2013-14). He scored 14 goals and had a career high 26 assists and three of his 14 goals and three of his 26 assists came on the power play. He also added one assist while shorthanded. Killorn averaged 16:48 of ice time during the regular season.

In the 2015-16 playoffs, Killorn had five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 17 games. He also had 18 points (nine goals and nine assists) in 26 games during the 2014-15 playoffs. With Killorn’s alleged signing, the Lightning would have just over $8.5 million of cap space with 11 forwards, six defensemen, and two goaltenders under contract. They still have to re-sign restricted free agents Nikita Kucherov, Vladislav Namestnikov, and Nikita Nesterov.

Killorn had 138 career points in 272 career regular season games and has been a positive possession player for his entire career.
