Identifying the top high salary and value second baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 18 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Logan Forsythe, Rays (5,100): Forsythe checks all the major boxes Monday. He’s facing a left-hander (.362 average vs. LHPs), he’s on the road (.294 average in road games) and the Rays have a high expected run total (5.3). In games that are forecasted to feature plenty of runs at Coors Field, it’s always a prudent move to roster at least one of the team’s leadoff hitters. Forsythe is an elite play.

DJ LeMahieu, Rockies (5,000): LeMahieu won’t be leading off, but he should be batting in his normal No. 2 spot where he’s lethal at Coors Field. LeMahieu is hitting .321 against lefties, so he matches up well with struggling southpaw Drew Smyly (2-10, 5.47 ERA). But that average pales in comparison to his average at Coors Field this season, which is a staggering .380.

High Value

Yangervis Solarte, Padres (3,800): Solarte has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, and he continues to bat in the heart of San Diego’s order, giving him further fantasy value. The Padres are coming off a sweep of the first-place San Francisco Giants, so they have momentum entering Monday’s series opener against St. Louis Cardinals righty Mike Leake (6-7, 4.14 ERA). Solarte is a sneaky play.

Brett Lawrie, White Sox (3,100): Lawrie’s first season in Chicago has been largely underwhelming, but he has hit safely in 13 of his last 15 games. He’s also hitting an even .300 against left-handers this season, so he stands out as an intriguing play Monday against Seattle Mariners southpaw Wade LeBlanc (1-0, 3.52 ERA).
