Identifying the top high salary and value shortstop plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 18 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Trevor Story, Rockies (5,400): Colorado players are going to be very, very popular at home against Tampa Bay on a short slate Monday. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have exposure to some of them as well. Story and the Rockies will face struggling Rays left-hander Drew Smyly (2-10, 5.47 ERA), and Las Vegas expects them to tee off (6.3 expected run total). Story is expensive, but he’s a legitimate threat for a 20-plus point DK outing.

Carlos Correa, Astros (5,000): As Houston continues its push toward a second straight postseason appearance, Correa’s star continues to rise. The 21-year-old phenom has reached double digits in DK points in three of his last eight games, and is in a nice spot Monday against Oakland Athletics righty Kendall Graveman (5-6, 4.37 ERA).

High Value

J.J. Hardy, Orioles (3,200): Hardy continues to be routinely under-priced for the production he’s giving DFS players. The veteran shortstop has extended his hitting streak to 10 games, a stretch that includes two home runs and four double-digit fantasy performances. He’s a great play Monday against New York Yankees righty Ivan Nova (6-5, 5.18 ERA), against whom he is 11-for-37 with two doubles and a home run.

Jose Iglesias, Tigers (2,400): Here’s your super-cheap value play of the day. Iglesias, an All-Star in 2015, has seen his batting average drop more than 40 points in 2016. His lack of power keeps his DK price down, too. However, he’s 4-for-7 with a double in his career against Minnesota Twins righty Ricky Nolasco (4-7, 5.22 ERA), so if he’s in the lineup Monday, he’s worth a look.
