The Olympics at Rio are just around the corner and USA Basketball is going for their third straight gold medal and once again making the United States the best in the world.

However, USA Basketball has had to deal with distractions before they get ready to defend their gold medal in the tournament.

Last week, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested on assault charges in Michigan, after he got into an altercation with a Michigan State cornerback.

Well, the maestro of USA Basketball, Jerry Colangelo, sat down with Green and the two went over the best options on how to proceed forward. Green felt the best route was to be open with his teammates ahead of the Olympics and to apologize for his actions.

It’s been a rough month or so for Green. First he got suspended in the NBA Finals, then the Warriors blew the NBA Finals against the Cavaliers and finally, he got arrested.

The Olympics and winning a gold medal are a great chance for him to get back on track and that’s what Colangelo is trying to do by sitting down with him.

Apologizing to his teammates is a great first start.
