Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor won’t face sexual assault charges over allegations made by a dancer in a Philadelphia strip club.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ 20th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Nelson Agholor, won’t face charges stemming from a sexual assault allegation made against him by a dancer from a local Philadelphia strip club.

Last month, a dancer at the Cheerleaders Gentleman’s Club, a club located close to the Eagles practice facility, reported to police that she had been sexually assaulted by Agholor. Two other unnamed Eagles players were at the club with Agholor. Today, prosecutors announced that they would not be filing any charges against Agholor. The Philadelphia DA released a statement, saying:

"“As a result of this joint investigation, our staff and the police reached the conclusion that we lacked sufficient evidence to bring charges against Mr. Agholor, therefore no charges will be filed,”"

The decision not to pursue charges against Agholor was made after a thorough investigation of the claims against him.

Agholor appeared in 13 games for the Eagles in 2015, catching 23 passes for 283 yards and one touchdown. The Eagles are hoping that Agholor can step up in the space that was left by Desean Jackson. They will need someone to step into the gap, as most of the Eagles wide receiver corps is very young. They have the budding Jordan Matthews, and Josh Huff looks to be a solid pickup, but in order to move the ball they will need more than two or three wide receivers that can catch the ball.
