The former NFL wide receiver will appear on the shows Sunday Countdown and Monday Countdown.
Early in Randy Moss’s career, few expected him to remain in the industry after retirement due to all the bridges he burned. We had Moss squirting an official with a water bottle, pantomiming mooning the crowd, and many more incidents that seemed like they would steer him away from a post-playing career in the media. Now, the former wideout will join ESPN’s NFL Countdown shows on Sunday and Monday.

Moss was considered finished after a disappointing stint with the Oakland Raiders from 2005-06. After being traded to the Patriots in 2007, Moss found new life in his career in New England. His first year was the infamous 16-0 regular season, and he caught passes in New England for three and a half years before returning to the team that made him famous, the Minnesota Vikings. Less than four weeks after being traded to the Vikings, Moss was waived after he criticized head coach Brad Childress and the Vikings organization. Moss ended up with the Titans in 2010 before retiring for the first time.
Moss came out of retirement with the San Francisco 49ers for a short stint in 2012, but age had caught up with him. He re-retired after the 49ers loss to the Ravens in the Super Bowl.
If ESPN is going for former athletes who have no filters, Moss is a no-brainer. He has an incredibly high football IQ and a penchant for saying whatever he feels like whenever he feels like. The former great will fit right into the current state of sports television.
