The debate over which Olympics is better has been going on for a long time, so we decided to look at 15 reasons why the Summer Olympics are better than Winter.

The Olympic Games began back in Olympia, Greece, as games were held every four years in the sanctuary of Zeus. In 1890, Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the International Olympic Committee, which would decide to rotate the games to different countries every four years.

The Games of the I Olympiad were in 1896, and athletes competed in 49 events in nine sports. Since then, the Summer Games have become an international phenomenon, creating legendary sports figures in the process.

In 1924, the first Winter Olympics took place in Chamonix, France, and it was on a smaller scale than the original Summer Games. Athletes participated in only 16 events in six sports, but it has grown to nearly 100 events since then.

The Summer and Winter Games were played in the same year up until 1992, when it was decided that the Winter Games would occur in the second year after the Summer Games.

The biggest debate running now is which Games are better. There are plenty of people who feel the Winter Games are better than the Summer Games, and vice versa, and it really depends on what sports you are into.
