Will Brock Lesnar be seen at the WWE Draft?
On Tuesday night, the WWE Draft will emanate from Worcester, MA. This will see Raw and SmackDown receive exclusive rosters via a selection process. Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley will pick for Raw, while Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan will select for SmackDown. This will all be happening on the first edition of SmackDown Live.
WWE put out a list of all the Superstars eligible to be selected in the draft. Among them was Brock Lesnar, who is a part-time Superstar. He is the only one of this status that is listed on WWE’s rules page.
So given that Lesnar doesn’t show up often for WWE, there was a question of if he would show up for the draft on July 19. That doesn’t seem to be the case, as the Beast Incarnate is not advertised to appear at the draft.
From what WWE has been saying, Lesnar’s first appearance back will be at SummerSlam, where he’ll face Randy Orton. There hasn’t been an indication of if he’ll show up before that.
As for Lesnar in the draft, it will be interesting to see where he’s selected. If WWE positions him high, it means there are plans to make the UFC 200 winner a building block for Raw or SmackDown. If he’s selected below the first few rounds, then it should be business as usual for how WWE uses Lesnar, which means he will appear every few months for a big event.
Brock Lesnar is potentially the most interesting storyline of the evening, as his situation doesn’t resemble anyone else’s on the WWE roster.
