The graphics on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remaster will blow your mind

IGN did a graphics comparison for the original and remastered versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and it’s mind-blowing.

Just in case you were on the fence about buying the remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, this side-by-side comparison of the graphics might sway you.

Considering the original version of Modern Warfare came out in 2007, and considering the game will make the transition to next-gen, the difference was always going to be stark. But IGN did a playthrough of the opening mission, “Crew Expendable,” and the attention to detail on the remaster is stunning, to say the least:

When Modern Warfare first hit the shelves, the visuals were well ahead of its time, and the gameplay felt realistic. So to see the game get a full visual update will ensure that this remaster was done for more than just nostalgia purposes.

Say what you will about the Call of Duty franchise, but Modern Warfare was by far the best game of the series, and it was a first-person shooter’s delight. While we’ve already gotten a taste of what “Crew Expendable” will look like, the real mission that fans will want to play through again, perhaps multiple times, is “All Ghillied Up.” That has stood the test of time as one of the most iconic FPS missions of all-time, and playing it on next-gen will be a sight to behold.

When all is said and done, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see this game sell more copies than Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
