Identifying the top high salary and value catcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 19 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Brian McCann, Yankees (4,300): McCann is putting together a nice month of July. The veteran backstop is hitting .308 with two homers and six RBIs. On Tuesday, he draws a matchup with Baltimore Orioles right-hander Vance Worley (2-0, 2.87 ERA), who will be making just his third start of the season. McCann is 3-for-10 in his career against Worley.

James McCann, Tigers (4,000): Hey look, another McCann! We’re written in this column space before about James McCann’s success against left-handed pitchers. On Tuesday, he just so happens to be facing Minnesota Twins lefty Tommy Milone (2-2, 5.23 ERA). James McCann, like Brian McCann, stands out as one of the top options at catcher.

High Value

Nick Hundley, Rockies (3,400): Hundley was a bit of a disappointment on Monday, tallying just four DK points. We’re willing to give him a second chance on Tuesday. The Rockies host Tampa Bay and left-hander Blake Snell (1-4, 3.69 ERA), and Hundley is hitting .289 against lefties this season. Colorado is expected to score six-plus runs by Las Vegas, so the upside is there for Hundley.

Sandy Leon, Red Sox (3,200): Eventually either Leon’s production will level off, or his DK price tag will climb. But for now, just enjoy the ride. Through 21 games with Boston this season, the 27-year-old catcher is hitting .452 with two home runs and 13 RBIs. For this cheap price, he’s a great play Tuesday against San Francisco Giants veteran righty Jake Peavy (5-7, 5.09 ERA).
