Identifying the top high salary and value pitcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 19 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Jake Arrieta, Cubs (12,100): Tough choice here between Arrieta and New York Mets counterpart Noah Syndergaard, but we’ll go with Arrieta. After three straight underwhelming road starts, Arrieta is in a great spot to bounce back while pitching at home. It’s also worth noting that his salary is actually the lowest it’s been since early May.

Carlos Martinez, Cardinals (10,200): Martinez has finally found his strikeout ability. The 24-year-old right-hander has never been big on strikeouts, but he’s punched out 11 and seven batters in his last two starts, respectively. On Tuesday, he draws a home matchup with the San Diego Padres, who rank third in the majors in Ks (854).

High Value

Cody Reed, Reds (8,100): Reed, on the other hand, has shown solid strikeout potential through his first five MLB starts. The overall numbers (0-4, 8.39 ERA) are ugly, but he has 29 strikeouts in 24.2 innings pitched. He’ll face the last-place Atlanta Braves at home on Tuesday. Atlanta is one of the worst-hitting teams in the majors against left-handed pitchers (.241; 26th in MLB).

Anibal Sanchez, Tigers (4,300): This should be nothing more than a GPP punt play, but given the salary, you’ll be able to roster some high-priced hitters. Sanchez (5-10, 6.75 ERA) has really struggled this season, and it resulted in him being moved to the bullpen for the first time in his career. Still, a home matchup with last-place Minnesota is inviting enough to take a flyer on him.
