Identifying the top high salary and value shortstop plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 19 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Trevor Story, Rockies (5,100): We recommended Story in this column space yesterday and he rewarded us with a home run, stolen base and 28 DraftKings points. We’re going back to the well on Tuesday. Story and his Colorado teammates face Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Blake Snell (1-4, 3.69 ERA), and the Rockies have the highest expected run total (6.2) of any team on Tuesday’s slate.

Troy Tulowitzki, Blue Jays (4,700): “Tulo” has steadily raised his average each month dating back to April. He’s hitting .333 through 13 games in July, and on Tuesday draws a solid road matchup with Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Zack Godley (2-0, 5.28 ERA). The Blue Jays have a high expected run total (5.3), which is no surprise considering how poor Arizona’s pitching has been this season.

High Value

Tim Anderson, White Sox (3,900): Anderson homered Monday to snap a three-game hitless streak, and he could build upon that momentum Tuesday against Seattle Mariners left-hander Wade Miley (6-6, 5.44 ERA). Anderson, albeit in limited experience, sports a slugging percentage of .560 against lefties, and Miley is quite hittable these days (106 hits in 92.2 IP).

Trea Turner, Nationals (3,200): The 23-year-old Turner is an interesting option Tuesday against Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Scott Kazmir (7-3, 4.52 ERA), especially if he continues to lead off. He’s only played in five games for Washington this season, but he’s 4-for-10 against lefties so far. The talent is there, even if he’s still a bit raw, but he’s worth a look.
