Identifying the top high salary and value third baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 19 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Nolan Arenado, Rockies (5,500): Let’s see — Arenado is at home against a left-handed pitcher? We’re sold. The Colorado third baseman is one of the highest-priced players at any position on Tuesday, but for good reason. The Rockies host Tampa Bay and lefty Blake Snell (1-4, 3.69) in a game that, like most at Coors Field, should produce plenty of runs. Arenado is an elite option.

Josh Donaldson, Blue Jays (5,500): Arenado is sure to be popular again, though. Donaldson, the reigning American League Most Valuable Player, checks in at the same price and offers similar upside. Toronto begins a road interleague series at Arizona on Tuesday, and Donaldson is a fine play against young right-hander Zack Godley (2-0, 5.28 ERA).

High Value

Manny Machado, Orioles (4,100): Machado isn’t exactly “cheap,” but his price is pretty low for his skill set and talent level. The Orioles’ offense can certainly do some damage Tuesday against New York Yankees righty Nathan Eovaldi (7-6, 5.11 ERA). Machado is hitting just .182 in the month of July, so he’s due for a breakout game.

Danny Valencia, Athletics (3,800): Valencia has, quite simply, dominated Houston Astros left-hander Dallas Keuchel over his career. Valencia is 7-for-13 with two doubles and two home runs against the former AL Cy Young Award winner. Combine those numbers with Valencia’s .358 average against lefties this season and, well, it’s hard not to love him as a value play.
