Twitter is letting everyone apply for verification, but how long does it take to get that little blue checkmark.
Social media users rejoice, the day you’ve been waiting for is finally here. After years of scouring Google searches for mystical forms and backward ass hacks, it’s now easier than ever to apply for Twitter verification.
That means those years toiling away wondering how to get into the exclusive verification club are now over.
On Tuesday, Twitter revealed that they are opening enrollment for verification to everyone and anyone who wants to. But just because you can apply for Twitter verification doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.
The key word here in all of this is apply. You’re not standing in line for a blue checkmark handout, you’re applying for one. This cuts out the bewilderment of trying to search for a way to get verified but it doesn’t automatically mean you’re going to get into the club.
Anyone who wants to be verified on Twitter has to have an account that is of public use, and you need to be working in some form of media, entertainment or politics to get verification but no longer do you need to meet certain requirements to get considered.
All you need to do is fill out this form and play the waiting game, which will typically take about 7-10 days. Sometimes it will happen sooner than that, but don’t worry if you don’t see your blue checkmark right away as it could be coming in a week.
