Jimmy Butler has made it clear that he wants new teammates Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo communicate to him if things get out of hand.

With two former champions joining a Chicago Bulls team that was passed down to an emerging star in Jimmy Butler, it is unsure who the team’s vocal leader will be. In Rajon Rondo’s introductory news conference, he admitted the the Bulls were “Jimmy’s team” and stated that they have “three alphas.”

This can only help the Bulls after a disappointing season sliding out of the playoffs. With three stars on the floor at once, communication will be a key to success. Butler went on to say in an interview with the Chicago Tribune, “Everybody has to sacrifice a little something for the betterment of the team. We all just want to win.  They have done it. I want to do it. So I’ll play my role in that.”

Butler also stated that he’s been speaking with Rondo and Wade “a lot” because he wants to “know my guys in and out.” Butler’s confidence is only growing with time, and it’s showing as he’s proving himself by improving year in and out. Butler also stated in the interview, “I’ve made a name for myself in this league. I’m going to continue to build upon that. I want my name to be in there with the greats.”

Butler is currently gearing up for his country to begin the Rio 2016 Olympics. July 22 holds the USA Basketball Showcase at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The Men’s National Team will face South American rival Argentina.
