Former college football head coach Lou Holtz made some comments about immigration at the GOP convention that are being destroyed on social media.
This week, Republicans from across the country are gathering for the once-every-four-years event called the National Convention, where each political party officially nominates their candidate for the Presidential election in November.
This week in Cleveland, members of the GOP are hearing speeches from former and current politicians, religious leaders, actors and musicians. The sports world is also represented, as former college football coach Lou Holtz was chosen to speak at a luncheon during Tuesday’s day of convention activities.
The national championship winning coach from his time at Notre Dame did not hold back with his feelings about subject matter, including the hot button topic about immigration that had Señor Spit just fuming:
Wow … Holtz just went full old white man with that hot take! Call me crazy, but I don’t remember anyone holding a gun to this man’s head and forcing him to celebrate Hanukkah, Ramadan or even root for any other country outside of the United States at anything.
As you can guess, people were quick to light the head elf up:
I don't want to listen to Lou Holtz. I sure as hell don't want to hear him talk about immigrants.

Everyone please stop making Lou Holtz fast during Ramadan. And dear god, don't force Univision down his throat.

Maybe Holtz had a little too much of the personal refreshment he brought to the convention floor on Monday:
