Paul Pogba’s agent did his best to throw cold water on the Manchester United transfer rumors.
Paul Pogba is arguably the most sought-after name in this year’s summer transfer window. Ever since it started, he’s been linked with a return to Manchester United, where Alex Ferguson let him go on a free transfer because he “showed no respect” to the club. So it’s pretty surprising that they’re going after him, but given their past history, Juventus are only willing to part with him if it’s for a record fee of over £100 million.
Transfer headlines are always precarious to deal with, but the fact that this story has gone on for this long suggests that there’s more to it. But when Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola spoke to Goal, he had just one thing to say to all the rumors:
"All of what you read is bulls**t. That’s all there is."
That’s some pretty damning stuff, but it’s quite obvious that he wants to do his best to keep his client at Juventus.
Mino Raiola has already seen two of his players leave to Manchester United in Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but he seems adamant on keeping Pogba as far away from the Red Devils as possible. His past history with the club might have something to do with it, but considering how well paid Pogba would be if he moves to Manchester, he might change his tone.
No matter what Mino Raiola says, this story isn’t going to go away any time soon, at least not until Juventus are able to lock him up to an extension.
