The Thunder are telling teams that Russell Westbrook isn’t avialable.

When Kevin Durant opted to leave Oklahoma City for the Golden State Warriors in free agency, the Thunder brass was shocked. The Thunder felt that since Kevin Durant helped build the franchise in Oklahoma City that he would want to spend the rest of his career there.

The Thunder’s management and most people felt that Durant was of the same ilk as of players such as Kobe Bryant and Dirk Nowitzki who seem to take honor in spending their who career with one franchise.

Though, with Durant spurning them in free agency, it’s time to move to the next biggest subject in Oklahoma City, which is Russell Westbrook. The question now is should the Thunder trade Westbrook if they feel he won’t resign as they can’t lose another superstar?

Most believed that Thunder should place Westbrook on the trading block after Durant left them for Golden State. Though yesterday a report came out that Westbrook has given “no indication” that he wants out of OKC.

With that thought, the Thunder have seemed to take Westbrook off of the trading block or maybe he was never on it. According to Yahoo Sports, “So far, league sources said, teams that have reached out to the Thunder about trading for Westbrook have been told that he isn’t available.”

This may be a smart move for the Thunder because unlike Durant, it seems that Russell Westbook wants to finish in his career in Oklahoma City. As Westbrook has given hints that he wanted to stay from telling campers at his camp he’ll be there next year to giving OKC “no indication” that he wants out.
