WWE announced Tuesday that Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose will compete in a rematch for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on SmackDown Live.

During Monday’s Raw, a Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose match was held for the WWE Championship during the main event, but ended with a chaotic outcome. At first, it appeared that Rollins was the new champion, but after Raw went off the air, the decision was reversed on the WWE Network’s Raw post-show. Now it appears the two will meet again on SmackDown Live with the championship up for grabs again.

WWE made the announcement Tuesday morning via its various social media platforms. Basically, Shane McMahon reversed last night’s decision on WWE Network and Tuesday he set up the rematch for the show he will run, along with the help of his new General Manager, Daniel Bryan.

There’s been growing speculation that with the WWE Draft also taking place during Tuesday’s first-ever SmackDown Live, that a second major championship will be added to give relevance to both TV shows. That could mean that whoever loses in tonight’s match will go to the show opposite the WWE World Heavyweight champ, and become a champion as well.

These two will also be competing in a Triple Threat match at the Battleground pay-per-view which still appears to be set for Sunday at the Verizon Center in Washinton, DC. Roman Reigns will also take part in the match after serving his recent suspension for violating the WWE’s Wellness Policy. It’s going to be particularly interesting to see if WWE puts the title back on Reigns after breaking the rules, or they simply give the titles to his other two Shield teammates.
