The prolific German forward, Marco Reus, will grace the FIFA 17 cover with his presence.

Over the past several weeks, soccer fans all across the globe have been casting their votes to choose who will be on the cover of the latest FIFA video game. Today, it was revealed that Marco Reus was selected by the fans to be on the FIFA 17 cover.

Over 3.1 million votes were cast as fans chose between Marco Reus, James Rodriguez, Anthony Martial and Eden Hazard. All of these players are known for their exciting playing styles, but the German-born Reus ended up gaining the majority of the fan vote. The 27-year-old will be the 24th player selected to the cover of a FIFA video game.

Reus had a great campaign for Dortmund in the 2015-2016 season, scoring 12 goals in 26 appearances for the club. He did not appear in Euro 2016 due to a groin injury.

If EA Sports wanted an aggressive player for the cover of their video game, they struck gold with Reus. He’s scored 49 goals in 108 appearances for Dortmund and 9 goals in 29 appearances for the German national team. He’s a flexible attacker, and can play winger or striker just as easily as he can play attacking midfield. The only constant in Reus’s play is his aggression.

On top of his pressing style of play, Reus has some of the best technical skills in the world. He’s adept with either foot, as he demonstrated when scoring this goal against Mainz. Reus is a great pick for the cover of FIFA, and looks set for another great season with Dortmund in 2016-17.
