Former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy worked out with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Greg Hardy is a name even casual NFL fans recognize when it is brought up. Hardy played with the Dallas Cowboys in 2015 after serving a four-game suspension to start the season.
Hardy used to be known as one of the top defensive ends in football, but his 2014 arrest for assaulting his ex-girlfriend has cast a rightfully dark shadow over his reputation, even after the charges were dropped.
While the Cowboys passed on re-signing Hardy for the 2016 season, another team may be looking to give him a chance, according to a report by Rand Getlin of NFL Media.
The report was confirmed by several sources, including Jason Cole of Bleacher Report who reports a contract offer doesn’t appear imminent.
Two sources said #Jaguars were doing their homework on DE Greg Hardy. No contract offer appears to be imminent.

While signing Hardy could cause controversy, allowing him to work out for the team is not a bad idea. Even if the team does not want to sign him during the preseason, he can be looked at as a possible addition later in the year if the team is contending for a playoff spot.
Adding Hardy would be something the players and coaches would need to agree on before he was signed considering the backlash signing him would create. This discussion between the coaches and players is something mentioned by Mike Garafolo of NFL.com.
Jags were polling their staff and players in the spring on the thought of adding Hardy. Mulled this for a while. https://t.co/AGgneALVGh

It does not seem like the Jaguars have any intentions of signing Hardy now, but working him out also allows the team to gather the general reaction to the move. If the fans’ reaction is too negative, adding him may be detrimental to the business even more than it would help on the field.
