Kevin Durant’s new team is based in California. It only makes sense to get some new Cali-related ink, right?

Kevin Durant broke the presses earlier in July when he elected to head to the Golden State Warriors, the team that beat his in the playoffs. The Warriors have since fallen under criticism, namely that they were making a “super-team” to dominate the rest of the peons in the NBA.

They’re partly right in their criticisms. The desire to get a ring definitely influenced Durant’s decision to head to Golden State, but it can’t have been all based on championships.

Regardless of debate, Durant is with the Warriors, and the rest of the NBA will just have to deal with it. To solidify his move to the Warriors, Durant got a new tattoo, and it’s exactly what most rap fans think of when they think of California.

Yep, that’s a big mural of 2Pac on Durant’s left leg. Towards the bottom of the tattoo you might be able to make out the Wu-Tang “W”.

This new tattoo raises a bevy of questions. Was it inspired by his move to California? Why is the Wu-Tang symbol in there? Is it just a homage to your favorite rappers that everyone is taking as definite proof that Durant is in California for a long time?

Questions aside, as far as lifelike tattoos go, it’s a very good ink job. Most lifelike tattoos end up looking like the Coneheads or a bad clone job of a ram and a human being. Props to Durant for shelling out the cash to get a good tattoo.
