Minnesota Vikings: Broken stadium window may take two months to repair

As the Minnesota Vikings prepare to unveil their shiny new stadium, vandals have broken one of the windows.
The Minnesota Vikings and the city of Minneapolis are merely days away from the opening of the new U.S. Bank Stadium, a gorgeous, $1.1 billion masterpiece. Not everything, however, will look brand new and untouched, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.
It appears vandals picked up a rock from somewhere close by and threw it through the ground-level window, shattering the glass at the Hyundai club level.
Furthermore, it seems the window could take quite a while to replace.
According to Rochelle Olson at the Star Tribune, the replacement glass paneling could take six to eight weeks to arrive, meaning this shattered glass and the resulting patch work could be in place for over two months.
“Now that the building is open, accidents and vandalism occur,” Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) spokeswoman Jenn Hathaway said in a statement. “Addressing these issues is a normal part of building operations. Part of our operations protocol is to file a police report if there is vandalism to the building, which we have done.”
U.S. Bank Stadium, which will be home to the Minnesota Vikings and Super Bowl LII in 2018, is the first fixed-roof stadium built in the NFL since the opening of Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. in 2002. The stadium was scheduled for a ceremonial opening, including a featured ribbon cutting, on Friday.
