Identifying the top high salary and value pitcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 22 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Madison Bumgarner, Giants (13,000): Who better to help put an end to the Giants’ five-game losing streak than Bumgarner (10-5, 2.12 ERA). Bumgarner has 23 combined strikeouts over his last two starts, and his 155 Ks rank third among all MLB pitchers. The New York Yankees have struck out the third-fewest times of all the 30 teams, but has 30-plus fantasy-point potential every time he takes the mound.

Tanner Roark, Nationals (10,500): Roark (9-5, 2.82 ERA) looked solid in his last start, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out five over eight scoreless innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Roark’s strikeouts generally hover between five and seven, but he should be closer to the higher end of that spectrum Friday against the San Diego Padres (881 Ks; second in MLB). Both Bumgarner and Roark are likely to be popular picks, but they both seem worth it.

High Value

Lance McCullers, Astros (8,200): McCullers (4-4, 3.61 ERA) has actually been pretty consistent since early June. Since June 5, McCullers has topped 15 DK points in five of his seven starts, while striking out at least six batters in each of them. His opponent on Friday, the Los Angeles Angels, has won six straight, but McCullers is still a solid value play due to his strikeout upside.

Gerrit Cole, Pirates (7,400): It’s been a frustrating season for Cole (5-5, 3.11 ERA), who was an All-Star in 2015. Cole has battled injuries and inconsistency this season, and it’s caused his price to plummet. Now is a great time to take advantage, especially given his home matchup Friday with the Philadelphia Phillies.
