Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has taken a plea deal in his recent assault case in Michigan.
Draymond Green faced assault accusations earlier this summer in a bar incident in Michigan and was charged with assault. The legal process has been quick in this case, as Green has already taken a plea deal in the case.
Draymond Green plea agreement: $560 fine, no criminal offenses, no contact with victim for 1 year. Charge would become a civil infraction.

Green’s plea deal includes a $560 fine and he will not be charged with any criminal offenses. He likely took a plea deal to get this case behind him so that he can focus on the 2016 Summer Olympics and on the upcoming NBA season. Without taking a plea deal, this case could take a while to move forward. This basically ends it with very little punishment for Green.
He has been a model citizen off the court other than his arrest, which likely played a role in the relatively favorable plea deal. Now that the case is over with, Green can get back to focusing on winning a gold medal in Rio and on helping his Warriors live up to their full potential as a Dream Team.
Green set career highs during the 2015-16 NBA season with 14 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game, 7.4 assists per game, and 1.4 blocks per game. He also added 1.5 steals per game. Green is a very important part of the Warriors small ball lineup. His versatility is why the Warriors can afford to go small and quick. Green should be a very important part of the Warriors this season.
