First Baseman

High-Salary Option: David Ortiz-Boston Red Sox (4,500): Ortiz continues to torment his former team as he homered off the Twins again last night.  He has at least 12 fantasy points in each of his last three games and six of his last ten.  He comes into tonight with a 1.096 OPS on the season and a 8-19 track record against Minnesota.  This is the last series he’ll get to play against the organization that let him go, so look for him to take advance of them again tonight especially since the game is at Fenway where Ortiz sports an amazing 1.235 OPS on the season through his first 180 at-bats. ∗∗∗∗

High-Salary Option: Joey Votto-Cincinnati Reds (4,200): Voto has come out of the All Star break on fire and has gone 11-20 (.550) with a double and a pair of homers.  He and the Reds host the D-Backs tonight at Great American, and Votto is a good play based on his favorable home power splits (11 of 16 homers) and his good numbers against righties like Arizona starter Archie Bradley (.934 OPS) . ∗∗∗∗

Mid-Range Option:  Mike Napoli-Cleveland Indians (3,800): Napoli has hit safely in nine straight games for the Tribe and is 8-24 in the last week with a double and an impressive four home runs.  He has three homers in his last four games to bring his total for the year up to 22. Tonight, he’ll face the Orioles at Camden Yards.  In his earlier series this season against Baltimore, Napoli went 3-11 with a pair of homers, and he’ll look to continue his long-ball binge tonight against Dylan Bundy.∗∗

Mid-Range Option:  Albert Pujols-Los Angeles Angels (3,500): Pujols and the Angels have started the second half strong picking up six straight wins over the White Sox and Rangers.  Tonight, they’ll head to Houston where they’ll take on the Astros.  Pujols is 7-19 (.368) in those six games with four homers, 12 RBI, and three walks.  He should be able to keep his momentum going tonight as he faces Lance McCullers who he is 4-11 (.364) against in his career with a double and a home run. Pujols has also been a problem for the Astros all season going 11-27 (.407) against his division rivals.∗∗∗

High-Value Option: Adam Lind-Seattle Mariners (2,600): Lind started his career in Toronto and will be back north of the border tonight as the Mariners visit the Blue Jays.  Lind went 1-3 with a homer in his start on Wednesday after hitting a three-run homer as a pinch hitter on Monday.  He has at least 24 fantasy points in three of his last seven games, and he’s worth taking a flier on if he’s in the lineup tonight against his former club at a park he likes to hit in..
