Kevin Durant Oklahoma City Thunder jerseys are absolutely on clearance now. One Oklahoma City store owner is seen selling Durant jerseys for only $0.48.
With Kevin Durant, former star of the Oklahoma City Thunder, spurning his former club in 2016 NBA free agency to sign with the rival Golden State Warriors, it’s completely understandable that some Oklahoma City retailers are going to hold grudges.
One Oklahoma City store has now decided to sell Durant Thunder jerseys for only $0.48, 99 percent off the going retail value. It’s one thing to move a former player’s merchandise through the clearance process, but this is tad ridiculous.
This is some obvious shade the store owner was throwing in Durant’s direction. Durant had said earlier in July that “[he’s] not an $88 player” anymore, attempting to justify the price increase in his Nike signature shoes. Durant has also come under scrutiny for getting a tattoo of Tupac Shakur on his entire left calf.
While the Oklahoma City store owner could have moved all the merchandise eventually for say around a couple of bucks per jersey, the store was able to sell all of its merchandise in one afternoon, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell.
Perhaps that was the point of all of this, to clear out all the remaining Durant merchandise as quickly as possible? Being able to get a Durant Thunder jersey for $0.48 is an absolute steal, as that jersey will only increase in value over time.
Is the No. 48 significant with why the store owner decided to sell his remaining Durant jerseys at that price? Or did the owner do it to label Durant as a one percent-er, selling his threads for 99 percent off? Maybe in the store owner’s eyes Durant is a sell out, so he’s selling out on all of his jerseys?
