Former slugger Mike Piazza will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday, and here are five of his greatest moments.

On Sunday, former All-Star catcher Mike Piazza will be enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the culmination of an incredible Major League career. A former 62nd round draft selection of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Piazza went on to star for five Major League teams throughout his career, but he will forever be known for his time in Los Angeles, and as a member of the New York Mets.

Throughout his illustrious career, Piazza had some of the highest of highs, becoming the best home run hitting catcher in the history of the game. He played in World Series games, All-Star Games, and had some of his best moments on the biggest stages. He is forever a part of Major League Baseball history, and will now be immortalized in Cooperstown, New York.

The list of accomplishments is long. Piazza played 16 seasons in the Major Leagues and was selected to 12 All-Star games. He won 10 Silver Slugger Awards, finished in the top-five in MVP voting four times, and now will be the lowest drafted player ever elected to the Hall of Fame.

It was a long road for Piazza, who even quit baseball during his time in the Minor Leagues. However, he made the transition from first base to catcher, and the rest is history.

Elected on his fourth ballot, Piazza received 83 percent of the vote, and will go down as the best hitting catcher of all time. For his career, Piazza batted .308, smashed 427 home runs, and drove in 1,335. For a catcher, those numbers may never be touched.
