The Boston Red Sox have already dealt for Drew Pomeranz ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline, but what other moves should they look to make?

The Boston Red Sox made one of the first relatively major splashes ahead of the 2016 MLB Trade Deadline when they dealt one of their top pitching prospects in Anderson Espinoza to be able to acquire starting pitcher Drew Pomeranz from the San Diego Padres to help bolster their rotation.

Trading for Pomeranz isn’t the only move that the Red Sox have made leading up to the MLB Trade Deadline, also having traded for infielder Aaron Hill and for relief pitcher Brad Ziegler. Given that they’ve already made three deals to try and get control back of the American League East, one might assume that the Red Sox are done dealing.

However, that doesn’t seem to be the case in any regard. There are reports circulating around the league that the Red Sox are still interested in buying on pitching, both of the starting and relief variety, leading up to the July 31 deadline. And considering that Dave Dombrowski is running the show in Boston, that always means another trade is one the table.

Obviously Red Sox fans would love to get one of the bigger available names that could be moved to bolster their rotation or bullpen, dealing for someone like Julio Teheran, Chris Sale, or Aroldis Chapman. However, it seems unlikely and unwise that the Red Sox would be willing to go after those players either because of the amount of prospects it’d take to get a deal done or because it’s doubtful they’d get a deal done within the division.

With all of that in mind, these are five deals that the Red Sox should try to make before the MLB Trade Deadline in the form of the players they’d be getting.
