Former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal showed off his skills on the wheels of steel at the Tomorrowland music festival.
Shaquille O’Neal was known for turning heads during his NBA days and appears to be known for playing the hits on turntables. The 7-footer, aka “DJ Diesel,” recently showed up on stage at the Tomorrowland music festival where he was said to be a crowd favorite.
Tomorrowland is known as the largest electronic music festival in Europe. The big event started off on Friday in Boom, Belgium, where Shaq appears to have lowered the boom on stage. It wasn’t the first time he’s taken a turn at getting the crowd moving to various beats. Shaq’s full set from last year’s TomorrowWorld festival in Atlanta is available on YouTube.
It’s unknown how far Shaq will take this different musical career, but it’s also not the time he’s been involved in music. His longtime fans may be familiar with his debut on the Fu-Schnickens’ track “What’s Up Doc? (Can We Roc) and his full 1993 rap album “Shaq Diesel,” which was certified platinum.
Shaq has also conducted the Boston Pops Symphony Orchestra back in 2010, showing further music skills. In addition to all that, the guy has worked on TNT Inside the NBA to help with game analysis. He’s also got a few acting roles under his belt, and might also add the title of “professional wrestler,” as he could be appearing in a match against WWE’s Big Show at 2017’s WrestleMania in Orlando.
It seems Shaq is doing a bit of everything post-basketball, which is certainly something other sports stars should take note of for their retirement days!
