If you were a youngster who loved baseball in the early 90s and throughout the rest of the decade, there’s no doubt that you were trying to watch every bit of the Seattle Mariners that you could so to watch Ken Griffey Jr. play baseball. He was that type of icon and that type of important figure in sports at the time and that’s just one of many reasons why he’s part of the 2016 class for the Baseball Hall of Fame and will be inducted on Sunday.

And it’s safe to say that Griffey Jr.’s accomplishments from throughout his career haven’t gone unnoticed by his many fans, but they also haven’t gone unnoticed by the clubs he played for as well.

On Sunday ahead of the induction of Ken Griffey Jr. into the Baseball Hall of Fame, the team that drafted him in the Mariners took out a full-page ad in the Seattle Times that is absolutely incredible in paying tribute to one of the all-time greats and icons of the sport:

Simple, but absolutely perfect is the only way to describe a tribute like that. They touched on everything that made Junior so incredibly special to watch and why he’s heading into the Baseball Hall of Fame. You can’t say it or make a better way to honor him than that.
