In the latest NBA rumors, Miami Heat star Chris Bosh is said to have an ongoing medication issue with the team that he nearly filed a grievance against the team for.

Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat desperately wants to get back on the court this season, but his current team may need some convincing. One issue with regards to his health appears to be whether or not he should come off blood thinners or keep using them. Bosh suffered his second-straight season with a blood clot in his leg, which has led to health concerns for him and his team.

Bosh and his doctor may have a solution if the Heat can agree to it. It would require taking a new medication that leaves his system in a time frame of eight to twelve hours.

The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson reported that the new medication could leave Bosh’s system in that time frame “or by game-time, thus lessening or eliminating the inherent risks of playing a contact sport while on thinners. As we reported last month, the Heat rejected that idea late this past season, angering Bosh. And it’s unclear if Miami would be receptive to that now.”

Bosh could move things towards an ugly battle with his current team should they not allow him to play. It was noted back in early May that he might get outside help involved to let him play.

Bosh was seen on the Miami Heat bench throughout their most recent playoff run. He and his wife both posted social media posts that the NBA star really wanted to get back on the court and he felt fine. However, the Heat have held off since they are the ones with the contract and want to ensure any players’ health issues are safeguarded in a contact sport.

That said, there have been murmurs from Bosh’s camp that the Heat were doing this to clear cap space. However, the team insists this is not the case. However, his salary for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons could be cleared this summer if “a doctor that is jointly selected by the league and players association agree his condition is career-ending, or severe enough to put him at risk if he continues playing.” A grievance via the players union would make things a bit more complex, though.

So stay tuned to see potential drama as Bosh and the Heat try to get on the same page with the veteran All-Star getting back on the court!
